one’s sleeping place. Get to know another part of the city. Many people almost always sleep in their own room. They get up and eat the samebreakfast. What do other people eat for breakfast? Where do they go shopping? What is there to see in this part of the town? The guest must prepare a breakfast for the host. The guest receives a place to sleep in the dwelling of the host – a bed without breakfast. This occurs within the city where both the guest and the host live, so that another part of the city will be learnt. In comparison to a journey, within which we simply visit a place, one discovers with “bed without breakfast” another life and way of day-to-day living in the town in which one lives.
